Gear I Build for Myself — and Now for You
MtnYak, LLC started the way most good things do: I needed something that didn't exist, so I built it. What began as a few custom pieces for my own kayak turned into a full line of accessories that other paddlers kept asking about.
I'm a Native American Disabled Veteran, and I've spent a lot of time on the water — fishing, paddling, and figuring out what actually works when you're out there. The gear I couldn't find, I made. The stuff that broke, I rebuilt better.
MtnYak started with kayak fishing accessories — rod holders, organizer trays, bottle holders — the kind of things that make a day on the water smoother. Then came River Raccoon, our boat accessories line for larger watercraft. Same philosophy, same build quality, just scaled for the boat crowd.
Everything is built in my shop here in Alabama. I don't outsource, I don't cut corners, and I don't sell anything I wouldn't trust on my own rig. That's the whole deal.

How we build
Built by a paddler
Every item starts with a problem I ran into on my own boat or kayak. If it doesn't work for me out on the water, it doesn't leave the shop.
Made in the USA
Everything is built right here in my shop in Alabama. No overseas manufacturing, no shortcuts — just solid work done by hand.
Built to last
I use the same gear I sell. That means it has to hold up to sun, spray, heat, and hard use — season after season.
